Saturday 21st July - Lindsay Dunwell & Amy Mooring complete a Skydive to raise money for Oskar’s Dreams. Lindsay tells us the story in her own words:
"It was to be an early start on the Saturday morning to ensure we got to the Black Knight Parachute Centre in Cockerham, Lancaster for 8 am. A designated jump time couldn’t be given so it was a case of first come first serve.
"Rain literally pelted of the windscreen on the motorway on the way there, however we completed the registration process, which made us think; “oh my god, they’re going to be putting us up there in this weather!” So we waited….It rained….And then rained some more.
"The moment there was a slight break in the cloud at around 1pm the first people were taken up. The second plane went up shortly after but came down again without making the ‘drop’ as yes, it had started to rain again…and that break in the cloud had disappeared.
Our four Three-Peaks climbers dit it - all three peaks - Snowdon, Scafell Pike, and Ben Nevis - in the 22 hours and 2 minutes - brilliant and well done. The full Story is now online as is a Gallery of twenty super photographs
The 3 Peaks challenge team raised a huge £8,000 for Oskars Dreams plus £1,884 for Whiston Hospital! ![]()
