The launch of its centenary celebrations will be in September 2009 and in true guiding fashion they will mark the occasion with a theme of Changing the World – there will be 19 projects for packs and units to choose from; 19 different opportunities to take action; 19 memorable ways to channel the spirit of guiding and change the world!
The first of these projects has been completed by St George’s and Union Mills brownies and rainbows. In order to raise funds for Hospice Isle of Man’s Children’s hospice, Rebecca House, they held a sponsored welly walk.
The cheque was presented at the annual pantomime. The children also handed out fruit and sweets to the local elderly in the Union Mills and Cronkbourne Village.
