Aly Craig, Chairman of Oskar’s Dreams said: ‘We were delighted that Robin Gibb gave up his valuable time to appear at a concert in aid of our charity, which in turns benefits Rebecca House. To date Oskar’s Dreams has raised over £260,000 with proceeds from this concert being just under £25,500. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community on the Isle of Man for their generosity in continuing to support Oskar’s Dreams. We have some exciting events planned for 2009 and will carry on working closely with the team behind Rebecca House to help them to continue to offer the same level of support they give local children who need their help at a critical time in their lives.’
While on the Island Robin Gibb also took the opportunity to record Ellan Vannin. The Bee Gee worked with the choir from Isle of Man school King William’s College on the Homecoming Mix of Ellan Vannin, which will raise money for Hospice Isle of Man.
The single, kindly sponsored by RBS International, is still available to download from www.hospice.org.im or www.dukevideo.com (click on the 'Download Store' button) and is priced just £1.49, with all profits going to the charity. It is anticipated the CD/DVD version will be available in March 2009 to purchase.
